Steven King

Steven started off as an artist at a young age going painting on location with his father, Ed King. He worked in many different mediums, starting with pottery created in his first job Great Northwestern Stoneware. He then turned to sculpture eventually moving to acrylic and oil painting. He loved creating art more than just about anything, with oil painting being his preferred medium. He was prolific and dedicated; rarely going a day without working in his studio. To say it was his passion is an understatement.

Those who knew him, knew he loved to talk about color and composition... good food and great books. Steve made art interesting. Conversations in the studio made you look at the world differently. 

Occasionally, we'll hear a story about how he brought inspiration to a budding artist by the way he described his passion for the work and encouraged them to just go for it. He would be happy to know his work still inspires and meets new audiences through this website.
